Job Description
We are the world leader in the manufacture and sales of plastic drainage systems for onsite septic management. We are currently in need of a Plant Engineering Manager reporting directly to the Director of Operations. The successful candidate absolutely must be a hands-on manager who will roll up their sleeves and work on the plant floor. Duties:
Supervise plant engineers and maintenance department
Oversee installation, operation, maintenance and repairs to ensure that all machines and equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications
Initiate, develop and implement projects required for upgrading equipment reliability & performance and to expand plant capacity
Plan and execute key maintenance activities to support equipment repair and preventative maintenance activities
Coordinate maintenance and safety procedures, service schedule and supply of materials required to maintain machines and equipment
Design test control equipment and develop procedures for testing products
Research, design, evaluate, install, operate and maintain all mechanical/electrical products, machinery, equipment, systems and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles
Estimate costs for engineering projects, machine installations, machinery transfer projects and auxiliary equipment
Recommend design modifications to eliminate machinery or system malfunctions
Develop the faclility layout for new machine components and installations using computer assisted design/drafting software
Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and make recommendations to maintenance personnel
Manage the environmental regulatory compliance for the facilities
Requirements:
BS in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering or Electrical Engineering
Minimum of 8 years experience
Previous experience in injection molding and with design of injection molding machinery or equipment required
Proficient in AutoCAD or comparable CAD software
